History & Background
2002
Misamis Oriental Institute of Science and Technology was founded in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, in response to the need for affordable career-oriented education in the locality, where many graduates faced employment difficulties despite rising college enrollment.
Early years
MOIST began with Nursery, Kindergarten I and II, and three TESDA technical courses — Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, and Food Preparation and Servicing Technology.
Expansion (2010s)
Government Recognition was granted to Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT). MOIST also gained TESDA accreditation as an Assessment Center for multiple industrial qualifications including Heavy Equipment Operation and Driving.
2021
CHED approved three additional majors of Bachelor of Secondary Education (Mathematics, Social Studies, Values Education) and three additional majors of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Operations Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management).
