About the School
Leyte Normal University (LNU) is a public state university in Tacloban City, Leyte. Established in 1901, it is the oldest teacher education institution in the Eastern Visayas and one of the oldest normal schools in the Philippines.
LNU is designated as a CHED Center of Excellence in Teacher Education. It has produced generations of teachers who serve schools across the Visayas and Mindanao.
Following the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in 2013, LNU demonstrated remarkable resilience in rebuilding and continuing its educational mission. The university remains a pillar of Eastern Visayan education.
