About the School

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) is a public state university in Cagayan de Oro City. Formed in 2016 through the merger of the Mindanao University of Science and Technology and the Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology, it is the newest state university in Northern Mindanao.

USTP is focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. It holds CHED recognition in multiple engineering and technology disciplines.

With campuses in Cagayan de Oro and Claveria, USTP is positioning itself as a hub for technological innovation and industrial development in the Northern Mindanao corridor.

1927

Established in Cagayan de Oro as a vocational school serving Northern Mindanao.

1983

The school was elevated to MUST, offering degree programs in science, engineering, and technology.

A legislative proposal to merge MUST with Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology was initiated.

2016

RA 10919 formally merged MUST and MOSCAT into the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines.

2019

USTP gained recognition for its engineering, IT, and technology programs across its campuses.
