History & Background

1966

Established by Dr. José P. Laurel III (grandson of President Laurel) in Intramuros, Manila, originally as a liberal arts college.

1980

LPU introduced its tourism and hospitality management programs, which would become its flagship offerings.

1999

LPU expanded to Batangas, bringing its educational programs to the CALABARZON region.

2000

Lyceum of the Philippines was elevated to Lyceum of the Philippines University, recognizing its growth as a comprehensive institution.
